Finally I tested different bridges but ended up using the original and at some point I even experimented with a replacement pickup, but again I chose with the original. To get the sound that I was looking for I tried almost any string brand, both steel and nickel versions, and various gauges. I spent a lot of time on getting the bass in perfect shape, driving my luthier half crazy, but the result is great and the bass sounds and feels perfect to me.
